Flood
Description:
The meaning of Flood project, created by the collective Haha, was the creation of a group of twenty people who built and took care of a hydroponic garden in which grew vegetables and plants used as therapy for HIV-infected patients. In addition, Flood worked in other communities (Dekalb, Illinois; Cedar Rapids, Iowa) to plant gardens, each of which developed the project relative to the local context.
Goals:
To promote community health care.
Beneficial Outcomes:
Flood served as a service provider, offering educational activities, public events, biweekly meals, and information on alternative therapies, local HIV/AIDS services, nutrition, and horticulture.
